1、注意审题，千万不能跑题，《大学语文》的作文只要不跑题，一般都能得到较好的分数，最低的也能拿到及格分18分。因此，拿到作文题，一定要前前后后、左左右右认真分析这个题目的内涵、外延，写作时一定也要时时刻刻提醒自己紧扣题目。审好题后可以在草稿纸上列个简单的提纲，动笔时就紧紧围绕提纲写，这样就不会跑题。
2、《大学语文》作文题有记叙文和议论文，但以议论文为多，一般需要写成夹叙夹议的议论文。在写作议论文时，要注意多写理论，多讲道理，少讲例子。例子只是说明论点的论据，这个例子不能展开描写，点到为止。
3、注意作文对字数的要求。有要求写600字的，有要求写800字的。在写作时，一定要写够要求的字数。
4、注意卷面整洁，字迹工整.有些考生卷面乱七八糟，字迹让判卷老师无法辨认，这样会影响作文的得分。
自考命题标准
