具体要求如下：1. 字数要求：考研大纲对于英语一和英语二的字数规定不同，即英语一160到200词，英语二150词左右，但是在实际的阅卷操作中，两种试卷只要都不写超200字。
2. 内容要求：小作文一般属于书信类型，大作文是图画作文，主要以现在的热点话题为内容。
3. 语言要求：用词准确，语法正确，减少口语和缩略词，句型多变，又复合句也有从句。
1、时间要求：小作文 15分钟，大作文控制在35分钟内。
2、字数要求：因为第一篇小作文写6—8句话，超过8句话就过分了，就远远超过考试的字数要求，增加判卷老师的工作量。
第二篇作文写3个自然段，12句话，冲到顶17句话。
3.注意事项：英语中没有顿号，在汉语需要顿号的情况下可以用逗号。
汉语中的引言通常都是：“”的格式，而英语中不用冒号，用逗号，如， ＂ ＂。
书名、文章名等出版物名称用下划线或者斜体字表示（手写时用下划线）。
破折号可以用于在一个句子的前面或后面加入额外的注释，灵活地运用破折号可以使长句子变得更加生动，增加文章的文采。
应用文特点就是简单。
字数要求是在100字左右，因此小作文在保证清楚表达意思的情况下尽量要用一些简单的句式，不要追求像大作文那样复杂且多变的句式，高大上的句子在应用文中是大材小用。
其次在应用文中，虽然考研大纲中罗列了多种应用文类型，如包括申请信、感谢信、邀请信等形式的书信作文，还有简历、备忘录、公告、备忘录、通知、寻物启事等类型，但是其中最常考的就是书信。
因此大家要着重掌握书信的具体写法。
一.英语应用文写作之便条写法： 基本写作格式——便条内容和类型不尽相同，可以灵活变通。
但各类便条必须包括以下几个基本要素：1)Date：便条日期；2)Salutation：称呼；3)Body：这文；4)Signature：署名。
二.英语应用文写作之备忘录写法： 备忘录主要用来提醒、督促对方，或就某个问题提出自己的意见或看法。
基本写作格式——1)Heading：书端；2)Addressee's Name, Title, Address：收文人的姓名、头衔、地址；3)Salutation：称呼；4)Subjec：事因；5)Body：这文；6)Complimentary Close：结束语；7)Signature：署名。
三.英语应用文写作之建议信写法： 基本写作格式——1)Give your suggestions：给你的建议；2)Explain the reasons：解释原因；3) Other remendation：其他的建议；4)Signature：署名。
四.英语应用文写作之求职信写法： 基本习作格式——1) show your interest：展示你的兴趣；2) describe your previous experience：描述自己以前的工作经验；3) explain why you would be suitable for the job：解释为什么你适合这项工作；4)Signature：署名。
五.英语应用文写作之邀请信写法： 基本写作格式——1) Invite them to the party：邀请他们参加party; 2) Elaborate on the reason why such a party should be held：阐述举行这个聚会的原因；3) What activities will be arranged for them：将会为他们安排什么样的活动；4)Signature：署名。
英语写作能力是英语听、说、读、写四种基本能力之一，英语写作能有效地促进语言知识的内化。
Swain(1985)提出“可理解输出”假设，认为包括写在内的语言产生性运用有助于学习者检验目的语句法结构和词语的使用，促进语言运用的自动化，有效地达到了语言习得的目的。
通过写作，英语知识不断得到巩固并内在化，有利于英语技能的全面发展。
但是，英语写作又是广大英语学习者最感头痛的问题之一，且容易被教师忽视，笔者以为如何提高英语写作能力值得我们认真研究。
本文就此谈谈初浅的看法。
一、提高英语写作能力的原则 （一）渐进性原则。
要坚持“句—段—篇”的训练程序，由易到难，循序渐进。
在英语写作的初始阶段，要始终注意培养学生良好的写作习惯，狠抓基本功训练。
在学生掌握了基本句型并能写出简单句子后，再要求学生根据一些体例写出小段的文章。
在段落写作中要引导学生分析段落的结构、段落的中心句、句与句之间的逻辑关系、写作手法等，这样有利于下一步一篇文章的写作。
在文章写作中要教会学生如何构思文章、如何运用正确的写作技巧等。
（二）多样性原则。
要坚持训练形式的多样化及写作文体的多样性。
从形式上而言，可以用回答提问的口头作文，也可以用续写故事；可以改写课文，也可以仿写课文；可以写提纲训练谋篇布局，也可以写拓展段训练发散思维……。
从文体上而言，可以写说明文、议论文、记叙文，也可以写书信、便条、通知等实用文体。
（三）结合性原则。
要坚持听说读训练和写训练相结合。
根据语言习得理论，学习者在学习时常先通过听和读吸取语言知识，从而了解别人的思想，再通过说和写来表达自己的思想，让别人了解自己。
大量的听说训练能促进读写能力的提高。
因此，写与听说读紧密结合，进行多元化的能力训练，可使学生的各项能力互相影响、互相渗透、互相促进。
（四）控制性原则。
要坚持写作前的指导，控制学生的汉语语言思维，发展英语语言思维。
语言学习在很大程度上主要是模仿，而非随心所欲地自由表达。
教师要加强写作前的指导，可给出范文让学生模仿，以熟悉其语篇结构。
同时要控制其汉语语言思维，尽可能让学生习惯英语语言思维，以便于学生学习和掌握地道、正确的英语。
（五）持久性原则。
要坚持长期、正确的写作训练。
英语写作能力的提高并非一朝一夕之事，而是一个长期的、艰巨的、渐进的过程。
这就要求教师、学生都要有充分的思想准备，要有坚韧不拔的意志和必胜的信心。
二、提高英语写作能力的方法。
（一）通过积累词汇量，提高英语写作能力。
犹如土木砖石是建筑的材料一样，词汇是说话写作的必需材料，也是制约写作能力提高的瓶颈。
可以想象，如果要写一个句子，10个单词有8个单词拼写错误或拼写不出，有2 个单词用法不当，又怎么能清楚地表达自己的思想呢？因此，在平时的教学中要强调学生记忆单词，记住单词的拼读、用法、意思等。
记忆单词的方法有很多，各人有各人的记忆方法和习惯，可因人而异。
教师可通过要求学生朗读单词、听写单词、默写单词、遣词造句、词汇竞赛等多种方法促进学生记单词。
记忆单词是一个长期的反复的过程，要长期地坚持下去，才能不断积累大量的词汇，为英语写作打下坚实的基础。
（二）通过扩大阅读量，提高英语写作能力。
古人云“熟读唐诗三百首，不会作诗也会吟”，这是汉语的一种学习方法，同样可借鉴于英语写作。
多阅读是学生增加接触英语语言材料、接受信息、活跃思维、增长智力的一种途径，同时也是培养学生英语思维能力、提高理解力、增强语感、巩固和扩大词汇量的一种好方法，有利于促进英语写作能力的提高。
在阅读训练中，教师要注意以下问题：一是指导阅读方法，分析文章结构、中心思想、段落中心句、写作方法等，帮助学生掌握各类文章的结构及写作方法。
二要精读与泛读相结合，通过推敲优秀的文章来学会写作方法和选词用词；通过大量的泛读来吸取信息量，扩大词汇量。
三要扩大阅读量。
提供阅读的材料涉及面要广，才能不断扩大学生的知识面，使学生适应各种题材的写作。
（三）通过提高听说能力，提高英语写作能力。
英语听说读写四种能力是相互影响、相互促进的，提高听说能力必定会促进写作能力的提高。
要提高听说能力关键在于创设一个良好的英语环境。
教师要尽可能地用英语授课，多开展专门的听说训练，同时开展丰富多彩的课外英语活动，让学生沉浸在英语海洋中去领略、去体会、去使用英语，久而久之，学生自然能使用正确的、地道的英语进行交谈与写作。
（四）通过重视写作过程，提高英语写作能力。
长期以来，英语写作成果教学法（THE PRODUCT APPROACH）在我国居于主导地位，教师根据写作的终成品来判断写作的成败，重视写作的技术性细节（如格式、拼写、语法等），忽视写作过程的指导。
根据D.Rumechart和J.McClelland提出的连通论（Connectioni *** ）理论，写作包括写前阶段、具体写作、文章修改三个基本过程，这三个过程并非是线性排列，而是循环往复，穿 *** 行的。
教师只有重视加强对写作三个过程的指导，才能更好...
我们知道，要写好英语应用类文章，离不开扎实的英语基础，可是要打好英语基础并不是一蹴而就的事情，需要长时间的不懈努力，很多看似简单英语句型的理解问题确不是那么容易。
但是作为英语考试前的准备，总结并掌握一些英语写作的规律是必要的，实践证明，这也是提高英语写作能力的有效途径（虽然不是完美的就是了）。
当然，在写英语应用文时恰当地运用规律的关键在于灵活运用，而不是生搬硬套。
就拿广东的成人高等教育英语考试来举例，根据广东省成人高等教育英语（非英语学习的专业专科）考试大纲的要求，应用文写作要求学生写出一篇约100词的应用文，测试考生对应用文的写作能力。
试卷上可能给出题目或要求看图作文，或根据所给文章写出大意，或给出关键词要求学生写一篇应用文。
要求切题，意义连贯，无重大语言错误。
不管是在形式上或是在对英语基本技能的应用上，对成教学生来说，这一要求是不低的。
当然，广东省的成人高等教育（非英语专业专科）考试大纲要求的应用文写作，就目前所学的内容看，主要是指信函（求职信、会议邀请函、感谢信和道歉信），个人简历和广告等。
写出的应用文必须符合该应用文种的格式（含信封的格式），因此，必须认真学习英语这方面相关的内容。
就目前而言，信函的写作尤为重要，必须熟练掌握。
