通常来讲，英语书信写作无非遵从三段论的写作思路，而且每段的具体写作内容也是既定的，在第一段要开篇名义，说明写信目的，是请求帮助、提供建议、表达感谢还是歉意。另外，如果是非私人信函，还需要加上简单的自我介绍。第二段是书信的主体段，考生一定要根据写作指令中的具体要求，切题发挥，展开写作。最后一段通常是表达感谢/歉意，以及期待回复。如果复习考研的同学能牢牢抓住这个写作思路，无论是什么类型的信件，都能轻松搞定。

From the distance, it looked like a skinny tube, but as we got closer, we could see it flesh out before our eyes. It was tubular, all right, but fatter than we could see from far away.
