高等教育自学考试的开考专业，一般应在普通高等学校的专业目录中选择确定。专业考试计划的内容包括：指导思想、培养目标与基本要求、学历层次与规格、考试课程与学分、实践性环节学习考核要求、主要课程说明、指定或推荐教材及参考书、其他必要的说明等。

自学考试专业的课程设置分为：

1、公共基础课：所有专业或者同类专业应考者都必须参加的课程。如《马克思主义基本原理概论》、《中国近代史纲要》、《英语（二）》、《政治经济学》等。公共课虽然不一定同所学专业有直接联系，但它是培养德、智、体全面发展人才，为进一步学习其他内容提供方法论不可少的课程。

2、专业基础课：该专业考生要学习的基础理论、基本知识和基本技能的课程。基础课是为了应考者掌握专业的知识，学习专业的科学技术，发展我们有关能力打下基础。像工商企业管理（本）专业中的《管理学原理》和电子商务专业的《电子商务基础与应用》这类的，就属于基础课了。

4、选修课：有限制的选择自己需要的科目进行学习。选修科目的选择是有限制的，只能在专业考试计划规定的课程内选择。简单说就是给我们一些选修科目，自己挑着学。考生根据自己的能力和兴趣选择想考的科目。

5、实践性环节。

成人自考本科的专业选择性很多，一般我们常见的专业自考是都有开设的，比如说会计学、电子商务、工商企业管理、行政管理、人力资源管理、计算机科学与技术、计算机网络工程、土木工程、市场营销、英语等。至于成人自考本科报考什么专业通过率高，这个需要结合自己的实际情况来选择适合的专业。

4、行政管理（ public administration）是运用国家权力对社会事务的一种管理活动。也可以泛指一切企业、事业单位的行政事务管理工作。行政管理系统是一类组织系统。它是社会系统的一个重要分系统。

5、计算机科学与技术是研究计算机的设计与制造，并利用计算机进行有关的信息表示、收发、存储、处理、控制等的理论方法和技术的学科。

6、人力资源管理，是指在经济学与人本思想指导下，通过招聘、甄选、培训、报酬等管理形式对组织内外相关人力资源进行有效运用，满足组织当前及未来发展的需要，保证组织目标实现与成员发展的最大化的一系列活动的总称。

7、市场营销（Marketing），又称作市场学、市场行销或行销学，MBA、EMBA等经典商管课程均将市场营销作为对管理者进行管理和教育的重要模块包含在内。市场营销是在创造、沟通、传播和交换产品中，为顾客、客户、合作伙伴以及整个社会带来经济价值的活动、过程和体系。主要是指营销人员针对市场开展经营活动、销售行为的过程。

8、行政管理，最广义的定义是指一切社会组织、团体对有关事务的治理、管理和执行的社会活动。同时也指国家政治目标的执行，包括立法、行政、司法等。狭义的定义指国家行政机关对社会公共事务的管理，又称为公共行政。

自考本科是高等教育自学考试本科的简称，自考本科是我国基本高等教育制度之一，成绩合格后由主考学校和高等教育自学考试委员会联合颁发大学毕业证书，国家承认学历，学信网可查，符合条件者由主考大学授予学士学位。
